State of Washington

The State of Washington has been a client since 2000 and purchased the rights to our software. The State took on the role of equipment procurement, installation training and maintenance, proving the easy-to-use nature of the product.Washington is running 361 testing units in 61 offices connecting to a SQL Server database for nightly updates.

Washington has also installed Scantron® Scanners, which they have connected to our system to handle peak load testing. Our software controls the scanners and is capable of scoring the paper exams at a rate of one exam per second. All information is collected and stored in the database along with the results from the automated testing systems. .

State of Oregon

Oregon (ODOT)

In October 2009, STS submitted a proposal to the State of Oregon Department of Transportation to supply them with the Examiner automated testing system. Oregon subsequently awarded this contract to STS and as of March 2010, discussions with the State are progressing in preparation for installation of the system. Plans include the installation of 216 Test stations in 64 offices. STS will be responsible for hardware and software.

Oregon (OHLA)

Oregon has installed the Examiner system to administer tests required by the Oregon Health Licensing Agency. In one office they have one Control Station and eight Testing Stations offering tests for Barbers, Denture Technologists, Esthetics, Hearing Aid Dispensers, Nail Technicians and Tattoo Artists.

State of Idaho

Idaho

Solutions Thru Software installed a fully automated testing and report generation system into 20 of the Idaho DMV offices during Phase 1 in the fall of 2006. The system consists of ELO touch computers and runs on the State’s network. Solutions Thru Software installed and trained the offices and the State.

The State found installation and maintenance so easy, that when the State proceeded to phase 2 in the spring of 2007, and expanded the system to include 108 testing units in 55 offices, the State chose to do installation and maintenance themselves. Although a contract existed for STS to do this work, STS worked with the State to save them thousands of dollars in contractual commitment. Solutions Thru Software provides server maintenance using the State’s VPN connection.

State of Nevada

The State of Nevada system utilizes a centralized database and includes 104 testing units in 15 offices. The Nevada contract was completed as a lease.STS owns all hardware and software and through a four-year lease submits monthly invoices for the system’s use. This system has received great acceptance and has now been expanded to include an additional four years of lease, five more offices and approximately 25 more testing units.

This expansion to Nevada has been offered at absolutely no increase in cost. Solutions Thru Software maintained the original 2002 pricing structure through the additional four-year lease. When the State implemented web testing system, it was provided at no increase in cost in 2006.

State of New Mexico

New Mexico installed the Examiner system in the spring of 2009. They operate 250 Testing Stations in 75 offices with the uniqueness of a few of their offices being privatized and operating outside of the States network. These privatized offices connect via the Internet through a secure connection allowing the State to receive immediate results from all tests performed with the private offices.

The State of New Mexico also chose to take advantage of idle time when the testing units are not being used. At these times, the public can approach the testing units and use a custom application enabling them to renew driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations as well.

State of Missouri

Solutions Thru Software installed 99 systems in the State of Missouri during the summer of 2003. The Missouri installation included product customization to allow State examiners to enter data and create state-specific reports and forms.Missouri also chose to implement two Examiner consoles per office due to the increased workload required for the forms. All Examiner consoles can access and start tests on all testing units.

The Missouri system utilizes a centralized SQL Server database updated in real-time over a 56k Frame Relay connection. In 2007, Missouri upgraded to the web testing system as well as adding 33 Testing Stations, 34 Examiner Consoles and expanding into 5 new offices and two mobile units.

State of Michigan

Michigan has implemented our web paper testing system in 170 offices. These offices are served across the World Wide Web from our secure server farm. Solutions Thru Software has also recently been awarded a contract to implement randomized web testing for Class C passenger licenses in 500 privatized driver licensing schools. This vendor hosted solution will allow driving schools access to exam material only during controlled operational hours. All statistical and reporting information is available to Authorized Government staff 24/7.

In December 2007 the State added automated CDL testing to 28 offices with 105 Testing Stations followed by 37 additions Testing Stations in 12 offices in early 2008. In the spring of 2009 142 CDL Testing Stations were added to an additional 40 offices bringing the total count to 284 CDL Testing Stations in 80 offices.

State of Ohio

As a client since 2000, the Ohio contract includes software and hardware as well as full system maintenance for 588 systems. Like North Carolina, the Ohio installation involves a WAN system linked to a central administrator site. In 2006 the system was updated to the Web Testing System (WTS) including an expansion of Testing Stations.

In the fall of 2007 an additional 100 Testing Stations were installed into the system. In the fall of 2008 the State began using STS web services to fully integrate the automated testing functions into the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle's Business Application Services System (BASS).

State of West Virginia

In January of 2011, Solutions Thru Software was awarded the contract for replacement of West Virginia’s existing automated testing system. This will be comprised of 28 offices and 150 testing stations.

West Virginia is the first State to incorporate wide screen monitor technology, a trend expected to increase in the foreseeable future. West Virginia will also be incorporating a full publicly accessible practice exam system based on Examiner.

State of Delaware

Delaware installed fully automated testing and report generation in all DMV offices in 1994. This system runs on the State’s network backbone. Solutions Thru Software installed and trained the offices and the State has taken over full maintenance and operation of the Examiner system since 1997.

The State upgraded to STS’s web based software in 2005 at no additional cost to the State beyond the standard annual maintenance contract

State of North Carolina

As a client since 1999, the North Carolina contract involves 456 systems and includes all hardware and software installation and maintenance. The North Carolina system also includes a complete integration into the State’s DB2 Mainframe Database.

Driver records are pulled from the mainframe and test results and histories are automatically stored back to the mainframe. In 2006 the system was updated to the Web Testing System (WTS).

State of Hawaii

In the first quarter of 2011, the State of Hawaii awarded Solutions Thru Software a contract to install 18 testing stations in 9 offices, in 4 counties on 6 islands.

This represents one of the most unique installation environments to date, as it is comprised almost entirely of offices geographically separated by ocean. As of the 1st quarter of 2011 this project is in the planning and development stages with expected completion by summer 2011.
